Finding and targeting new casino patrons

The casino customer is quite different than any other type of industry customer. Most industries provide products and services with pre-determined costs. Customers in every other industry other than casinos have a pretty good idea how much money they are going to spend before they spend it. On the contrary, the casino customer can lose huge amounts of money, quickly. A lucky few will win or break even. It is for this reason that casinos must offer more than just games for their customers to risk their money on.  If you are looking to attract customers to your casino or gaming establishment, you need more than a venue, games and entertainment. To capture a portion of the $90-billion-dollar a year casino industry, you’re going to need to impress people! Here are a few tips for casinos to find and keep customers.

New customer rewards: There are countless ways to attract new customers with a rewards program. Consider using offers that include free plays/money, free spins on a prize wheel or a chance to step into a money machine cash cube. Scratch off cards are a great way to get new clients in your doors as they require attendance to claim the prize.

Current customer rewards: With a reward program that allows customers to stack their rewards over time, you increase the chances of turning new and current customers into long term clients.  In this scenario, clients can build points for free nights at your hotel or gift certificates towards dinners at your finest restaurants.casino patrons

Quality customer service: Your guests need to know that they are your top priority, but you have to do more than just tell them they are. Every interaction your clients have with your casino staff should be concierge level. Guests should feel confident that your staff will bend over backwards to make their (reasonable) requests possible.

Develop customer brokers: “Brokers” are companies/people that do business in and around your casino that have an influence on tourists. Bus companies, taxi companies, restaurants and hotel concierge are just a few examples. There is a good chance that the employees of said companies like to spend a little time at the casino as well. This makes for a great opportunity for a “broker’s only” rewards program.

Target young people: While they may not have a huge gambling budget yet, these are your future customers. Anyone who runs a casino knows that building your client database is the most valuable resource for continued targeted marketing. If young customers participate in your rewards program, they can build some hefty long term value to your establishment.

Make every employee a brand ambassador: There’s a good chance that you have several dozen if not several hundred employees under your casino roof. Developing an employee referral rewards program will boost moral and generate chatter in the community where each of them lives. Imagine if each employee gave out one voucher a month to another person in the community, how many new people would be walking through your doors? From the house-keeping staff to the head of security, each employee offers incredible value with their connections to the community.
